What is Zapier?

Zapier is an online automation tool that connects your favorite apps, such as Gmail, Slack, Mailchimp, and more. You can connect two or more apps to automate repetitive tasks without coding or relying on developers to build the integration. It's easy enough that anyone can build their own app workflows with just a few clicks.

Learn the lingo:


A Zap is an automated workflow between your apps. For example, you may have a Zap that automatically sends a thank you email once a Clarrow Contract is signed. Zaps consist of at least two parts: a trigger and one or more actions.


A trigger is the event in an app that starts the Zap. Once you set up a Zap, Zapier will monitor the app for that event. For the thank you email example, the trigger would be the signing of the contract.


An action is the event that completes the Zap. For the thank you email, the action is

automatically sending the thank you email.

Example Zaps on Clarrow:

  • An invoice is paid → Add a new row on a google sheet document.

  • An expense is created → Create a new record on Expensify.

  • A contract is signed → Send a thank you note.

  • A proposal is approved → Send an email.

  • A contract is signed → Create a new project for that client & title the project with the contract’s name.
